“We have played more shows with the Marshall Tucker Band through the years than any other band and have worked together for over 40 years . We have so much history and so many memories, and the music is so compatible that when we get together, the audience, Charlie Daniels Band and Marshall Tucker Band have a big ole Southern-style good time.” mentions Charlie Daniels.
“The idea of us touring again with the Charlie Daniels Band leads to all kinds of possibilities,” Doug Gray, lead singer with The Marshall Tucker Band states. “It’s not just about the music, but also the friendships and the reunion with the fans who’ve been with us for many years. We’ll be playing all of our hit songs as well as material from an upcoming rereleased vinyl album.”
The Marshall Tucker Band was formed nearly 50 years ago in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Besides “Fire on the Mountain,” the band’s hits have included “Heard It in a Love Song” and “Can’t You See,” which Country Music Television ranked as fourth in a list of Greatest Southern Rock Songs.
The Charlie Daniels Band signature song, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”, became a platinum single, topping both country and pop charts, winning a Grammy and three CMA awards. Daniels was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016 and the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009.
Daniels and his manager, David Corlew, in 2014 founded the The Journey Home Project to help veterans returning from tours of duty.
The tour title refers to The Marshall Tucker Band’s hit song “Fire on the Mountain” and the Charlie Daniels Band’s album of the same name.
